Gator Season 2010 - 2011

Program Offset 2,500 tonnes CO2

The University of Florida was the first school in the NCAA to offset all of its carbon associated with its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from every home game. Offsets were created locally in the Gainesville community through the distribution of energy efficient light bulbs (CFLs), and from the New River Solid Waste Association Bioreactor where landfill gas was recovered and destroyed preventing the powerful gas from venting to the atmosphere.
