Florida Gators 2012 - 2013

Program Offset 2,500 tonnes CO2

The University of Florida was the first school in the NCAA to offset all of its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from the entire Athletic Program. Offsets were created locally in the Gainesville community through the distribution of energy efficient light bulbs (CFLs), and from the nearby New River Solid Waste Association Bioreactor where landfill gas was recovered and destroyed preventing powerful methane gas from venting to the atmosphere.
